The girlfriend of slain rapper Young Dolph spoke out in an interview with Fox 5 Memphis after learning the rapper was killed after an alleged altercation with another man.
Sharaya, the mother of Dolph’s 3-year-old daughter, said she is heartbroken over the rapper’s murder.
She said Dolph was supposed to come over Wednesday night but he failed to show up and she believes he could have been with someone else that night.
“I didn’t know he wasn’t here last night until the police showed up and that’s when I called him,” Sharaya said.
In that interview, Sharaya defended her ex-boyfriend, claiming his life was in danger.
“I’ve been dealing with threats and he took me to the police office to basically report the threats,” she said.
Memphis police say that gunfire erupted just outside the rapper’s home and he was struck multiple times.
He was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead at the scene.
His death follows the recent killings of TDE manager Keemoah Fields, recording artist E. Theophilus “2Tre” Harris and Rehab Specialist Akilah Hughes, according to Gossy Music News.
Fox 5 reported that the homicide is being investigated as a robbery gone wrong.
