Lyndsay Daughtry denies that her daughter’s death was a homicide

On November 21, 2016, during a Facebook live broadcast from her home in Georgia, Lyndsay Amaturo Daughtry shared the sad news that her daughter Destiny had passed away. Since then, speculation has run rampant about what exactly occurred, and whether or not Destiny died of an apparent overdose of opiates and other drugs, or had a homicide committed upon her. Lyndsay Daughtry now denies all such theories.

“No, that’s not true at all. They are completely false,” Lyndsay Daughtry told People magazine on Thursday, November 22, of the rumors. “It was a horrible day for me and my family. We’re not getting into any of that. It was just heart breaking to have that come out on a social media platform.”

The entire family is extremely grateful for the outpouring of support and kind words they’ve received throughout the ordeal.

“We have so much support, people from all over the world, people reaching out with love and concerns,” Lyndsay continued. “We truly appreciate everybody’s concern. And we’re not going to discuss it. It’s not going to make it better for her, or make it easier, and it’s just not something we want to focus on.”

At this time, Chris Daughtry has not commented on the situation. He released his last new album, Conspiracy, in March of this year.
