Joc O'Rourke

President and Chief Executive Officer

James "Joc" C. O’Rourke has been president and chief executive officer of The Mosaic Company since 2015. He is the company’s third CEO since it was formed in 2004. 

Mosaic employees mine, produce and deliver millions of tonnes of phosphate and potash fertilizers each year. Fertilizer accounts for half of all crop yields, and farmers across 40 countries use our products to optimize their crops. 

Prior to joining The Mosaic Company, O'Rourke was President of Australia Pacific for Barrick Gold Corporation, the largest gold producer in Australia, where he was responsible for the Australia Pacific Business Unit comprising 10 gold and copper mines in Australia and Papua New Guinea. O'Rourke has more than 25 years of experience in mining and processing operations, and has held various management, engineering and other roles in the mining industry in Canada and Australia. 

O’Rourke serves as a director for a number of organizations, including The Toro Company, The Fertilizer Institute, International Fertilizer Association and Canpotex. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mining and Mineral Engineering from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, and an Executive Master of Business Administration degree from Institut Européen d'Administration des Affaires (INSEAD) in Fontainebleau, France.
 

Corrine Ricard

Senior Vice President—Mosaic Fertilizantes

Corrine Ricard was named Senior Vice President—Mosaic Fertilizantes in November 2019. Previously, Ricard held leadership positions at Mosaic including Senior Vice President, Commercial and Supply Chain, Senior Vice President of Human Resources, Vice President of International Sales and Distribution, Vice President of Business Development and Vice President of Supply Chain and Risk Management. Prior to Mosaic, Ricard worked for Cargill in various roles including risk management, supply chain, treasury and commodity trading. Ricard has 35 years of agriculture experience.

Ricard serves on the board of directors for Canpotex, the Canadian potash marketing association; Gulf Sulfur Services; and Carlisle Companies, a publicly traded company. Ricard previously served on the board of directors for the Ma’aden Wa’ad Al Shamal Phosphate Company, a phosphate production joint venture in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, DayBreak Foods, a privately held company; and the Freshwater Society, an environmental non-profit organization.

Ricard earned her bachelor’s degree in finance at the University of Minnesota, an MBA in strategic planning from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.

Walt Precourt

Senior Vice President—Strategy and Growth

Walt Precourt was named Senior Vice President—Strategy and Growth in January 2019. Precourt has held several leadership positions since joining Mosaic in 2009, including Senior Vice President—Phosphates, Senior Vice President—Potash Operations, and leading the Environment, Health and Safety organization.

Prior to joining Mosaic, Precourt joined cement and mineral component producer Holcim (U.S.) to lead its safety transformation, later becoming Holcim’s Vice President of Environment and Government Affairs. Precourt started his career at The Dow Chemical Company where he served in a variety of roles in Operations, Technology, Capital Project Management, and Environmental, Health and Safety.

Precourt earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, his M.S. in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering from Vanderbilt University, and his MBA from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.

Phil Bauer

Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary

Phil Bauer was promoted to Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, in January 2023.

Since joining Mosaic in 2007, Bauer has managed legal support for business development activities, potash operations, offshore finance, commercial transactions and corporate governance. Most recently, he was the Vice President—Growth and Development where he helped drive strategic vision across the organization.

Prior to Mosaic, he was a partner at an international law firm where he focused his practice on mergers and acquisitions, public and private securities offerings and public company compliance matters, as well as general business advising.

Bauer earned his Juris Doctor degree from The George Washington University Law School in Washington D.C., and his Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service with honors from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service where he majored in international politics. Phil also received his Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. 

Chris Lewis

Senior Vice President—Human Resources

Chris Lewis was named Senior Vice President—Human Resources in June 2019. Prior to joining Mosaic, Lewis held the role of Vice President, Project Execution for Spectra Energy Corporation’s merger into Calgary, Alberta, Canada-based Enbridge, Inc. where he led construction of the companies’ energy assets throughout North America, as well as a synergy capture program post acquisition.

Prior to that role, Lewis held roles at DCP Midstream, LLC, a natural gas company based in Denver, where he started as the head of Human Resources while the company was formed as a spinoff from Duke Energy in 2007. From 2010 to 2016, he was DCP’s Chief Corporate Officer, a multi-functional role that included leadership of the human resources function. Earlier in his career, Lewis held regional and global senior human resources positions at Thomson Multimedia (formerly RCA, GE consumer electronics) and DHL, Inc.

Lewis holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial safety from Central Missouri State University.
